What does BeautyComm Intensive mean?
BeautyComm is short for Beauty Communications. As this is a communications workshop focusing on beauty PR and jam-packed into two intense days, we thought the name BeautyComm Intensive was appropriate 

Why launch a beauty PR workshop?
Why not? Alexis Rodriguez is Founder of ThePRCloset.com, an advice column for aspiring beauty and fashion publicists, and was always receiving e-mails from her readers asking about beauty PR workshops. After a lot of research, Alexis came to find that there weren’t any out there that offered an up close and personal look at what beauty publicists do. So, she teamed up with close friend and PR veteran Tiffani Carter to start BeautyComm Intensive and piloted the program at the Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT).  Alexis’s in-house beauty and fashion PR background, Tiffani’s unparalleled agency experience, and their unsurpassed beauty industry contacts combined ensure that BeautyComm Intensive will become the most coveted beauty PR workshop in the industry.
 
When is BeautyComm Intensive?
BeautyComm Intensive dates will vary.  The first session will be fall 2013. For exact class dates, times and locations, please visit the REGISTRATION tab.

Is BeautyComm Intensive only in New York City?
BeautyComm will kick off in NYC, but will eventually go on a road trip based on demand. The next city after NYC will most likely be LA followed by Miami, but we hope to make it to small towns as well. If you want BeautyComm to come to your city, e-mail us at info@beautycommintensive.com.

What exactly will I learn?
You’ll learn the fundamentals of beauty PR as described on the COURSE OVERVIEW page.  You will receive a full course description and syllabus upon registration.

Can I attend BeautyComm? Who will benefit from attending?
We encourage high school seniors, college students, freelance publicists, PR assistants/associates, and anyone with a genuine curiosity about beauty PR to attend BeautyComm.  If you are someone who wants to break into beauty PR, but you have no idea where to start or what the job entails, this workshop is for you. 

In this class, you will learn how to:
·        Develop a targeted, tactical PR plan that generates results
·        Execute a targeted media outreach program geared to the needs of your client
·        Draft attention-getting media pitch letters
·        Distribute a news release
·        Work with traditional and online media
·        Develop a social media strategy
·        Conduct research and measure results
·        Create am impactful PR focused resume that leaves a lasting impression

Not only will you learn beauty PR 101, but you will also be exposed to people in the industry you would otherwise not have access to based on Alexis’s and Tiffani’s unsurpassed relationships.
 
Is there an age limit?
You must be at least 18 years of age or a high school senior to attend BeautyComm. For those who may be 17 years of age, we require authorization from a parent or legal guardian and contact information for the guardian.

What is included?
Tuition for the class includes 16 hours of presentations, lectures, activities, breakout sessions, and guest speakers.  You will also receive a BeautyComm PR Certification and
 training on Cision and Tribe Dynamics management & monitoring platforms. You will receive a complete syllabus upon registration.

BeautyComm does not cover travel costs or accommodations.

What is the dress code?
Be comfortable while remaining professional. This is not a job interview, but you still want to put your best face forward. We leave it up to you.

How do I pay?
Payments may be made through the REGISTRATION tab on our website.  All payments are securely accepted through EventBrite.com with PayPal payment. Tuition fees do not include additional tax and processing fees, which will be added upon checkout.

What if I need to cancel?
Admission to the workshop is non-refundable, but your seat is transferable within 1 week prior to the event date.  Otherwise, you forfeit your seat in class.
 
What should I bring?
You should bring anything you usually use to take notes, so a laptop, iPad, tablet, or standard notebook and pen.  A formal workbook will be provided as well.  You can also bring your mobile devices to tweet about how much you love @Beauty_Comm during the sessions!

What about food?
Lunch will be provided on Day 1, along with snacks and drinks, but you are free to bring your own snacks and lunch if you’d like. Breakfast will not be provided on Day 1, but a light breakfast will be provided on Day 2. Lunch on Day 2 will not be provided so that you can get out and explore New York City.

Can I come for one day?
We strongly encourage you to attend both days of the course, as the information provided on Day 1 crosses over into activities on Day 2.  It is the only way we can ensure you get the most out of the course. If you choose to attend one day, the full tuition cost still applies. 

What if I cannot afford to attend?
We know this is a pricey course, but we see it as an investment in your future career. You are paying for years of experience and knowledge being shared with you by two industry vets AND exclusive access to top media, publicists, resume coaches, special certification, and more.  However, we have a proposition for you…
